2022 Ken Hanlin Skeet/Trap League

Week 6 notes: Just another beautiful fall day, sunny and chilly to start but warming up nicely, the leaves mostly down.  Discounting the first week, we had unbelievable weather this season, as is always the case at UCSC!

Dale Snow became our HOA winner breaking 279 of 300 targets thrown. Due to league rules stating that a shooter can only win one prize, Gary Dickerson took trap 1st (140) as opposed to winning HOA r/u (270) because frankly it paid a few bucks more.  Jim Courtwright then was awarded HOA r/u (267).

Trap r/u was awarded to Levi Merrill (140).  Though tied with Gary, Levi had left the club before a shoot-off could have settled things.  Levi came into week 6 leading Gary by 1 target, but Gary broke 24 to Levi’s 23 to bring about the tie.  Levi had the one and only 25 straight in trap this year.

Skeet 1st was won by Mike Wojtecki (141).  Again, rules prevented Dale Snow (146) from taking the skeet first. George Kirik (139) then took skeet 2nd.  Mike and George were tied for skeet 2nd coming into week 6, but Mike ran a 25 to George’s 23 to eek out 1st.  By the way, of the five straights in skeet this year, Dale had three of them.

Thanks for all those that participated!  See you all for our winter version coming soon.
