2023 Ken Hanlin Skeet/Trap League

Well we were hoping for a “decent” finish for the end of the league, but it wasn’t to be.  Maybe in the upcoming 2024 winter skeet/trap league mother nature will reward us.

After a shoot-off of 278’s, Jim Courtwright prevailed over Joe Fisher to bring him the HOA prize.  Great shooting guys!

In trap, due to our “one prize per shooter” rule, Steve Wall took first place with his 137 with Mark Holthouse taking runner-up shooting another 137, but Mark had left the club before a shoot-off could settle things properly.

At this point an apology is in order.  As I (Steve Best) was totaling the final scores at the club, I mistakenly gave Steve Wall his brother Jack’s trap score of 20 instead of his actual score of 23.  This caused us to award 1st place trap money to Mark Holthouse and 2nd place money to Gary Dickerson.  Steve, we’ll get you your winnings the next time we see you.  Personal apologies to Steve, Mark, and Gary!

In skeet, again due to our “one prize per shooter” rule,  George Kirik and Paul Huckno shot-off their 139’s to determine 1st & 2nd.  George prevailed for 1st, but Paul wanted me to make note that he was 77 years old and that he hated to make George’s youth an issue ;>)

Thanks for all who came out this fall to support our club and we hope to see you all back next February for our next winter skeet/trap league.  Going forward, we’ll be here on Sunday’s starting about 9:00am and closing up around 1:00pm.  See you at the club!
