Week 4: Hard frost this morning, but sunny and little breeze. A beautiful fall day. Four 25’s this week. Three in trap and one in skeet, showing that trap must obviously be the easier game. Or, we have more regular trap shooters in the league. Or green targets are easier to see and break. Who knows for sure.
Courtwright leads in all three categories however Sliker is tied with him in trap. Matt Benchek, Kirik, and Stewart are just one back of Jim in skeet. Matt and Dickerson are just three back of the two trap leaders. Matt holds HOA 2nd just four back of Courtwright. See y’all next Sunday. Looks like the weather is to hold if you can believe a weatherman.

Week 3: We were somewhat lucky this week. Cloudy and cool, but the rain projected to be with us from hurricane Isaias missed our area. George Kirik had the only straight, in skeet. At the half-way point of the league, Kacyon and Wall are tied in skeet with 70 and Courtwright, Kirik, and Stewart just one back with 69. In trap, Dickerson and Wall are tied at 71, with Courtwright one back 70. Amazing how close the top scores are in both disciplines. HOA is led by Wall at 141 with Courtwright two back at 139. We had 10 shooters who missed this week, mostly due to a memorial sporting clay shoot at Critter Path in honor of Mike Wise who passed away this week, so they’ll need to shoot two rounds next week to catch up, so it’ll be busy. Cross your fingers for good weather next week and bring your best!
Week 2: Week two continued with nice cool, sunny, fall-like weather. Let’s hope it continues aye. Some shooters were starting to hit their stride it seems. There were four 25 straights this week. Two of those fired by Steve Wall as he broke them all, and Doug Sliker in trap and Nate Soliwoda in skeet. Nice! Twenty-nine shooters now competing with another first timer to our league. Say hello to Dan Szustak. Welcome Dan! See ya next week.
Week 1: The first week for our 2026 Ken Hanlin skeet-trap league saw nice weather, sun and temperature wise, but very gusty wind. There was just one 25 straight (in trap) this week by a newcomer to our league, Daniel Miziniall (hope I spelled his last name correctly.) Introduce yourself to him and ask him how to pronounce it ;>) There were 25 shooters this first week with six first timers to the league. Welcome! Be sure to read the league rules below, especially regarding shooting ahead and behind. See you all next week.
