2025 Winter Skeet/Trap League

3/30/25 Final Week 6: Sorry to say, but all of your prayers for a beautiful final week, weather wise, were not answered.   Temps weren’t bad, but rain varied from pretty heavy to sprinkles but there were very few times when the skies were not leaking some.  Six guys chose not to shoot this week (the smart ones) and those three guys (the lucky ones) from the Corry area that shot ahead in week #5 really knew what they were doing. Two guys (the unlucky ones) needed to shoot two rounds to finish up their league.  Anyway…
Joel Stewart continued his fine shooting, even having to shoot two rounds, to win the HOA prize with his 273 total.  Famous Harbor Creek alum Jack Wall took HOA runner-up firing 261.  Joe Fisher took home the skeet top prize breaking 138 with George Kirik snagging skeet r/u just two back.  Trap top money went to another Harbor Creek alum Doug Sliker, who crushed 134.  Mike Roush’s 124 good for r/u.  Obviously due to our league rule of one prize per shooter, in addition to HOA, Joel could’ve taken skeet 1st and trap 2nd. Just shows how dominant he was this winter.  No one works harder at this game, so well deserved Joel!

Lastly, a BIG thank you to the guys who helped the regulars out by setting up, filling traps, picking up empties, etc.  None of us is getting any younger.  Appreciate it for sure!  Also, this was the last Sunday of shooting till next fall, so we now begin Thursday afternoon shooting hours.  Normally we begin about 2:00pm after club maintenance is finished.  Anyone willing to put in a few hours a week helping to keep our club the jewel of NW PA, stop out around 10:00am.  Thanks!
3/23/25 Week 5: Bright sun but 20 degree temp greeted us this morning.  It got up to 40 or so by the end of shooting, but it sure would be nice to have the combo of both sun and warmth for next week, our league finale.  Joel Stewart, our week 4 leader in all categories, chose to shoot at another “undisclosed location” this week, so he’ll be shooting two rounds next week.  HOA leader is now Jack Wall with Doug Sliker six clays back.  George Kirik ran a 25 in skeet, just the second of the league, to become skeet leader with Joe Fisher two back.  In trap, D-Sliker takes the lead with J-Wall five back.  As usual, things won’t get settled until the final week, but it looks like well, a shootout for all the glory and prize money!  Also, checkout the 2025 Registered Shoots page to view the newly added Big Gun Open mailer.  Just a handful of spots open for that shoot so if you’re debating, better sign up with Mike Wojtecki pronto.  See ya’ll next week.

3/16/25 Week 4: Gusty wind greeted us this week although we did get temps into the low 70’s by the end of the day.  The second squad out shot in the rain for most of their round, but given the fact that there were tornado watches in the area, we were lucky to get our rounds in.  Joel Steward kept his leads in all three categories but his 19 in trap did give Mike Rouch some hope with Mike just two back.  Joe Fisher and George Kirik are also just two back of Joel in skeet.   Until next week, adios.
3/9/25 Week 3: At the halfway point of the league, Mom Nature showed us a peak of spring today, sunny but still a mighty cold wind.  Maybe next week she’ll put it all together for us, maybe.  So far, Joel Stewart still has the lone 25 straight which he fired in skeet the first week.  Right now he’s got the trifecta going; HOA, high skeet and high trap.  However, the “Wall Bro’s” were both absent this week so they’ll need to shoot two rounds next week to get caught up.  That said, Joe Fisher and George Kirik are just two back of Joel in skeet and Doug Sliker is two back in trap.  Fisher is ten back in HOA. See you next week, bring your “A” games!

3/2/25 Week 2: Well mother nature wasn’t ready to show us even a peek of spring this Sunday.  Upper teens to low 20’s with a biting wind and snow flurries challenged us.  Not a single 25 was had.  In skeet, Joel Stewart and Jack Wall share the lead with 47’s with the trio of Joe Fisher, Scott Sundean, and Steve Wall just one back.  In Trap, Doug Sliker took over the lead with his 46 followed one back by Jack Wall.  Thus far, Jack has HOA totaling 92 followed by Joel just one back.  As you are now aware, we award just one prize per shooter, so everyone keep busting clay and you could still win some cash at the end.  Here’s to better weather next Sunday!
2/23/25 Week 1: Weather was pretty good for our first week, compared to most Sundays this winter.  A mix of sun and clouds with a moderate breeze and temps 25-35.  Joel Stewart fired the only 25 this session, which was in skeet.  His 23 in trap gave him the HOA lead too.  The “Wall Bro’s” both scored 24 in skeet with Jack besting Steve 22 to 18 in trap.  Doug Sliker also fired a 23 in trap to tie Stewart for the trap lead so far.
